This year has been particularly difficult and disruptive for all sorts of reasons. HHG wanted to recognise that people as well as businesses have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. HHG has therefore donated what we would normally spend on client functions to the Christchurch City Mission.
The Mission was born in 1929 when a few caring volunteers handed out bowls of stew to 19 unemployed men. Today the Mission’s Foodbank provides tens of thousands of meals a year, they offer emergency accommodation for men and women with nowhere else to go, and they run day programs for men and women to lift their life and work skills. They also host a residential detox unit for people trying to quit alcohol or drugs, and employ social workers, addiction, and a budget adviser, plus they run an onsite medical unit.
To help us further our sponsored athlete Meikayla Moore provided us with two signed football shirts which we have framed and recently auctioned off which raised another $1000 for the mission.
On behalf of all our clients and staff, Hamilton Hindin Greene is proud to support the City Mission and we know that the funds are desperately needed to support the people of Christchurch who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.
