In 1958 Warren Buffett bought his house in Omaha for $32,000. He still owns the house which is now worth $650,000. An impressive return you might think.

If he had instead slept on Charlie Munger’s couch and invested $32,000 with his investment firm Berkshire Hathaway Inc. despite all the ups and downs of the market, it would now be worth $1.2bn USD.

Lesson: Unless you need somewhere to sleep, don’t buy real estate
