We begin by understanding your risk tolerance to create an Asset Allocation that aligns with your goals. Then, we carefully select stocks based on both this allocation and your risk profile.
Hamilton Hindin Greene recommends a comprehensive Risk Profile assessment as it will help you analyse your own motivations in a structured and methodical format and may allow you to better evaluate your current situation. It is also a useful tool in communicating your financial circumstances and goals to your adviser.
Hamilton Hindin Greene will develop a strategic Asset Allocation to reflect our client propensity for risk. This will set broad guidelines within which stock selection will take place. The aim is to ensure our client’s portfolios are diversified to minimise their risk (within the clients parameters) and maximise potential returns.
Investment selection is where the bulk of HHG’s value adding service takes place. Picking the correct investments within a diversified portfolio is about finding the right level of exposure based on each client’s goals and needs. We use the combined knowledge of our Investment Committee to ensure our clients get the best advice.
Hamilton Hindin Greene’s investment committee consists of six committee members, combining a broad level of expertise which ensures our clients receive a robust investment service. The broad investment philosophy of the committee is one of long-term growth. The committee focuses on quality, blue-chip direct equities and fixed interest securities that fit our strict investment criteria.
The committee meets quarterly, or as market movements dictate, to discuss the recommended portfolio and investigate avenues to bring further value to our clients. This allows Hamilton Hindin Greene, in conjunction with its advisers, to provide clients with an investment strategy to meet their investment objectives.
We use Morningstar for the bulk of our research requirements. They provide us with a significant suite of research on a wide selection of stocks which enables us to provide our clients with very detailed information relating to their investments. HHG advisers also conduct their own research into select companies that we think will add value for our clients and are happy to investigate stocks brought to us by clients looking for advice.
All our advisers are NZX certified and available at all times to discuss your
investment requirements and queries. We also have Research Notes available on
most NZX listed companies, the ASX200 and a selection of mid-cap stocks that HHG
has selected for strong fundamental reasons. International research is sourced
from our offshore agents.
